Premium frozen Baltic Sprat and Baltic Herring, sourced from the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the Baltic Sea (FAO 27.IIId – Gulf of Finland, Gulf of Riga). Caught by our dedicated trawlers, Rossvik and Viru, our fish is delivered to production and flash-frozen within just 3 hours of the catch. Baltic sprat
Sprattus sprattus balticus. Calibration: 8–9 cm | 9–10 cm. Caught in the Gulf of Finland and the Gulf of Riga (FAO 27.IIId) by our own trawlers and flash-frozen within 3 hours of the catch. Available as 1st (A) and 2nd (B) grade in 12 kg nude blocks.
1st (A) grade
Season: November — April
Packaging: 12 kg nude block
Profile: Harvested during the optimal winter months. Features the highest fat content, firm texture and intact belly. Ideal for premium canning, curing and delicate gastronomic processing.
2nd (B) grade
Season: September — November, end of April
Packaging: 12 kg nude block
Profile: Caught during the shoulder seasons. Offers a softer texture and delicate structure. A highly cost-effective and versatile raw material, ideal for processing into pastes, minced products, or everyday canning where visual intactness is not essential.
Baltic herring
Clupea harengus membras. Calibration: 11–14 cm | 13–17 cm. Caught in the same waters by the same vessels, delivered to production and frozen within 3 hours. Available as 1st (A) and 2nd (B) grade in 12 kg nude blocks.
